Site specific installation at Kunstoffice, Berlin 2004

The room is tidy. I am alone with my thoughts. Locked in with the “writers table” and a utensil. The table is 120cm high, askew and made out of paper. It is covered with thousands of white jigsaw puzzle pieces, in all directions, one resembling the other. Ideas. I sit and think of the many novels which I will not write and ponder on their quintessence. The result is an “And-clump”. The essential link connecting everything. The enumeration of equal parts next to each other.

Seen from outside the room looks closed. You can only look inside through the slits of a grid work of squares which covers the window pane. The same grid work of squares, cut out of felt, covers the wall on the inside. When the light falls through the window the patterns of both grids interconnect, layer for layer. An infinite addition of squares, being continually shifted and displaced. They are creating space.

Night falls and I am alone in he darkness. Cars drive past, their headlights casting a moving pattern through the grid work onto the walls. It’s like watching a film. And?
